Year In Review: 2025
Did I meet my goals for 2025?
Not really. I've been dealing with a few things in RL that were major changes but ultimately, I feel I was thinking about things wrong when I posted my 5 year plan.
Deploy my personal infrastructure with a semi-automated way to deploy/maintain that infrastructure
This isn't really needed in practice. I worked with ansible and other automation tooling and the truth is, for the scale I'm at, manual deployments with bash scripts is just faster/more efficient uses of my time. So I'm just using docker containers as a deployment/installation tool and putting caddy in front.
Document things that are normally considered personal publicly
I did this, particularly with my health/financial plans.
I probably should add I shifted to an international/US domestic mix of about 40%/60% simply because I don't think US outperformance during the Trump presidency is likely and so far I've been correct by about 3%. It sounds small but when you are a mid-career professional with a saver's mentality its an entire paycheck.
Start on my projects.
I did this but I kept killing them off, honestly.
So not really a start worth mentioning.
Discuss life as a neurodivergent
Discuss life as a neurodivergent is something I just kinda moved on from I guess. I just don't feel like it?
Go on two 4 day vacations outside of visiting my parents/family.
Went on the vacations.
Life quality check in and annual tasks in DECEMBER/2025
Did this I suppose? But still, just not much to report lol.
